Help Us Give to Our Community This Holiday Season–Food Pantry, LAX

When I think of Thanksgiving, many things come to mind…

The happiness I feel from gathering with loved ones and friends.

The delicious aromas of turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pies. Mmmm…

Running in a local Turkey Trot, or thinking of doing it in the future.

Having the “attitude of gratitude” as we reflect on the good things in our lives.

With the holiday season upon us, many of us ponder on the virtue of gratitude.

In spite of the difficulties we may face, there is always something to be grateful for. In fact, probably more things than we usually recognize!

When we look beyond ourselves, we have the capacity to reach out to others who may need our help.

This is one of the reasons why we support Food Pantry, LAX.

Food Pantry, LAX was established in 1985 with the mission to help feed low and no income members of our community.

Individuals may come to the Pantry once a week to pick up groceries, ideally sufficient for one to two days. The majority of the recipients are women, children, senior citizens, veterans, and members of the homeless community.

While there is no income requirement, individuals who come to the Food Pantry must bring some identification verifying they live within the Pantry’s service area, which includes Westchester, Hawthorne, Inglewood, El Segundo, and other parts of Los Angeles.

Food Pantry, LAX is completely run by volunteers and is made possible because of the generous donations of food and funds from community members.
